Before updating your TikTok product listing, you should review your current attribute sync settings, as some attributes might be syncing from Shopify.
Quick Navigation Menu
Overview
By default, the following attributes are directly synced and updated by Shopify, so updating them on TikTok will result in the edits being overwritten by the Shopify data in a matter of minutes.
If you'd like to change your sync to have TikTok as your primary system or enable bi-directional attribute sync, you can do so on your SKU IQ Dashboard.
How To Change Your Attribute Sync Settings
You may follow the steps described in the following video or the written guide below to learn how to change your current attribute sync settings.
Access the Settings Tab
First, navigate to the Settings tab of your SKU IQ dashboard's left-hand menu.
If this is your first visit to this page, you'll notice that all attributes are set to sync from Shopify to TikTok by default.
Before making any changes, we recommend visiting your integrations page for more information on which attributes you can sync.
Choose Your Syncing Option
On your Settings page, you can change the direction of the sync by toggling on/off the attributes on the TikTok and/or Shopify columns, you will see the icon under the Syncing Direction Column change according to what you choose. Your options are:
-
Unidirectional Sync: In this option, only one of your two platforms acts as the master for each attribute. Changes made in the master platform sync across.
-
Bidirectional Sync: In this option, there is no master platform, and changes made on both TikTok Shop and Shopify are synced across.
-
If there are any attributes you do not wish to sync, uncheck both boxes next to it until you see the designated symbol indicating it's not syncing.
- Once you are done, don't forget to it Save at the top-right corner of your screen.
Independently of this sync, you can add videos, update the Brand information, and fill in any required or optional fields that are exclusive to TikTok directly on the product listing page on the TikTok Seller Center.
Please note that TikTok Shop does not accept Unicode characters, so we only send product descriptions from Shopify in Plain Text.
