How often do I need to log into skuIQ to check my syncing and order data?
If you don’t have multiple retail locations and you don’t have automations set up in SKU IQ, you will need to log into SKU IQ anytime you add a new product to your POS or eCommerce platform. When new products are added, they must be manually pushed to the other platform in order to get the inventory quantities to sync. See the section Push your products for more information.
When you have automations in place
Many merchants have automated processes set up in SKU IQ that allow them to rarely or never log into SKU IQ. If you use one platform as your source of truth, you can contact our support team to enable the following automations:
1. Automatic pushing of new products from your primary platform to your secondary platform.
- If you are automatically pushing new products from your POS to your eCommerce platform, those products can be pushed as “active” or in “disabled” mode, depending on your preference.
2. Automatic syncing of certain product data when you add or edit an item within your primary platform. See the section What fields sync between my POS and eCommerce platforms for more information about which product data can be automatically synced.
3. Automatic fulfillment of orders when you have multiple Lightspeed locations set to sync with their corresponding locations in Shopify.
If you would like to set up automations like those described above, additional fees may apply depending on your subscription level.
When you have multiple POS locations without automatic fulfillment
Merchants that have multiple retail stores syncing with their online store will need to log into their SKU IQ account daily or even hourly to fulfill orders and assign a retail location from which to deduct inventory quantities for those orders. This is important so that the inventory quantities will be as accurate as possible at any given time. Inventory quantities are not synced until the orders are manually fulfilled within SKU IQ.
Note: Contact our support team to see if you are able to set up automatic fulfillment to avoid having to fulfill orders manually within the SKU IQ dashboard.
See the section How do I tell SKU IQ which location to fulfill my online order from for more information about how to fulfill orders when you have multiple retail locations and do not have automatic fulfillment in place.
