Adding New Users to SKU IQ

It is helpful to have multiple users within SKU IQ so you can get help from your employees. Here's how to add a new user and restrict access to certain aspects of the dashboard.

Overview

It can be very helpful for merchants, especially those that are in the process of growing their business, to add new users to SKU IQ. Allowing a new user to access your SKU IQ account lets your employees, partners, or people working on your website or troubleshooting your Point of Sale to have access to your SKU IQ account. This way you do not have to share your login information with someone else and prevent people abusing your login details.

When you create a new user account on SKU IQ, you, as the owner, are the head-admin of the account. You can add users that have the same privileges as you, or you can limit access to certain aspects of the dashboard (including hiding sales figures or limiting access to reporting or adding products). This is especially handy if you are working with a web developer or someone that does not necessarily need to see your daily/monthly sales figures.

How to Add a New User

Adding a new user is very easy. Follow these steps to add new users to your existing SKU IQ

 account.

1. Click on your email address on the top right hand corner of your Dashboard (you can access

this from anywhere in the Dashboard). Then select Account from the drop down menu.

2. From the Account page, scroll down toward the bottom. You'll pass the Your Account section and the password reset section to find the Staff Accounts section.

3. You'll see your email address listed as Owner if you are the one that started the SKU IQ account. Additional users will show up underneath your account.

To start adding a new user, click on the +Add user button just underneath your account.

4. A new popup window will appear. This popup will ask you to give the Employee's name, provide their email address (so that we can send them an invitation to your store), and make the employee a password. Make sure that you make the password memorable and provide the password to your employee. The employee can reset the password after the first login - we recommend doing this for security reasons.

5. You'll notice that there are different permissions that are available to give your employee. Here's a break down of what each checkbox does:

  • Dashboard Access - gives your employee access to the main dashboard. They'll be able to see everything that is on the front page.
  • Sales Access - your employee will have access to the Orders tab. This is important to have if you are doing manual fulfilment of orders from your eCommerce (applies to those that have multiple retail locations they are fulfilling online orders out of). They can also see your daily and monthly sales figures.
  • Inventory Access - your employee will have access to the Products tab. They will be able to add new inventory using the Add Inventory functionality, push products from one platform to the other, link products using the Link Report, and manipulate other aspects of your inventory data like changing quantities, variants, and more from the Products tab.
  • Analytics Access - your employee will have access to the reporting functions underneath the Reporting header. This includes Top Products, Top Customers, and Sell-Through data.

You are welcome to uncheck any of the boxes as necessary. We will not be able to change these settings on the backend, however, so be careful about what options you choose. If you terminate an employee or end your contract with a web developer, we can remove that account for you. Please contact Support to have this action performed. Provide the Support agent with the email address and name of the user that needs to be removed.

6. Once you are done selecting what options you would like to give your employee, click Send Invitation. The employee will receive an email from SKU IQ to join your store. We recommend that once they have joined the store and logged in for the first time that they go to their own Account page and reset their password.

If an employee has a SKU IQ account with their email address already, they will not receive an invitation and you will need to use a different email address to add them.

If you run into any trouble, please contact Support for assistance.
