We do not change any data until you tell us to. Not to worry! Your data is in good hands. When you start a Free Trial and connect your Point of Sale and eCommerce to SKU IQ, nothing will change until you tell us to change it! That's right - nothing will sync by default. We always recommend [backing up your data](https://knowledgebase.skuiq.com/knowledge/how-to-backup-your-inventory-data-on-your-pos-and-ecommerce-platforms?hsLang=en) as that's just a good habit to be in! Nothing will happen to your data until you choose to alter it via SKU IQ. This is accomplished by forming a *syncing relationship* between products. That can either be done by using the [link report](https://knowledgebase.skuiq.com/knowledge/link-report?hsLang=en) to link existing products together or by [pushing products](https://knowledgebase.skuiq.com/knowledge/pushing-products-catalog-migration?hsLang=en) from one platform to the other. By default, we'll sync your quantity changes as they happen once you form this syncing relationship. We can also sync several different [product data attributes](https://knowledgebase.skuiq.com/knowledge/product-attributes?hsLang=en) for you.
