This article explains what Order Syncing is and how it can help your record keeping!
Overview
SKU IQ offers a fantastic feature we refer to as Order Syncing. This feature allows use to send records of transactions from your eCommerce website to your Point of Sale (or in some cases your Point of Sale to your eCommerce)! This feature can help you keep all of your data in one spot so you only have to export one set of data for your accounting! Generally speaking, orders will show up as an "ONLINE ORDER" on your Point of Sale.
Check out the rest of the article for what orders will look like on your specific integration.
Keep in mind that like many of the other product data attributes that we can sync, order syncing can only be enabled in one direction, meaning that we can only translate your order data from eCommerce to Point of Sale or vice versa (if available).
If you are interested in enabling order syncing for your account, please contact Support as this feature is not enabled by default. Depending on how your shop is set up, additional information may be needed by support to set up your account as accurately as possible.
For Multi-Store Setups, manual fulfilment will need to be performed via SKU IQ to facilitate order processing.
π¨NOTE: When order syncing is enabled, users must manually update quantities when a customer returns or exchanges an item. Enabling order syncing, unfortunately, breaks the functionality of automatic quantity adjustments in the case of a return or exchange. Order updates are not sent through SKU IQ in these cases, so only the original order information is sent to the Point of Sale.
How Does Order Syncing Work?
When an online order is created on your eCommerce platform, SKU IQ will identify the online order data and create a copy of that data on your Point of Sale. You'll typically see that data in the Orders section of your Point of Sale (some terminology may be different, see below for more information). Depending on the integrations, order syncing can take anywhere from 1 minute to 12 hours.
Not to worry though, having order syncing turned on does not affect Real Time syncing for quantity changes!
So, if you have sales happen on your eCommerce website or on your Point of Sale, those quantity changes will still be reflected in minutes rather than having to wait for the order to sync through.

β Jump back to the integrations table.
β Can I See These Synced Orders On My Point of Sale Terminal?
In some cases, you can see this data on your Point of Sale hardware. In others, you will need to look at your web dashboard to see the orders.
β Does a notification pop up on my Point of Sale when I get an order in?
We are unable to notify you via your Point of Sale terminal when you receive and eCommerce order. However, we do offer email and text notifications for when you receive an eCommerce order - you can find these options under Settings on your SKU IQ dashboard.
β Why Can't I Sync Orders from my Point of Sale to my eCommerce?
With the rare exception of Shopify, we are unable to sync orders from your Point of Sale to your eCommerce platform. This is due to limitations with the APIs of BigCommerce, Wix, and WooCommerce. While this is a goal we hope to accomplish in the future, at this moment, we are unable to perform this operation.
β Why do I have to manually adjust my inventory when I take a return when I have order syncing on?
This is due to limitations with the APIs of our partner platforms. We're working on a solution for future versions of SKU IQ, but do not have one ready quite yet.
β When I have order syncing on, do the orders it copies to my Point of Sale or Shopify count double toward my order count for my subscription?
No! SKU IQ counts the orders that it has within it self on your order tab toward your order count for your subscription.
β Do you offer BOPIS features?
We do! Currently, Buy-Online-Pickup-In-Store is only available for Shopify and Square. There will be an article in regard to Square/Shopify BOPIS coming soon. Please stay tuned! We also hope to integrate more of our Point of Sale platforms with our partner eCommerces to offer BOPIS in the future.
