If you recently pushed items from your eCommerce but don't see them on TikTok Shop, they are likely in draft status. In this guide, you'll learn why that happens and how to get these items active on TikTok Shop.
Why does this happen?
When an item from a restricted or invite-only category is pushed over using SKU IQ, it will almost always enter a Draft status on TikTok Shop to prevent unnecessary shop violations. That is because TikTok requires brand certifications and/or additional information that isn't required by your eCommerce. Pushing these items over as active would cause an instant rejection and could even lead to shop demerits, so we send them into your Draft tab so you have the time to upload all necessary information before submitting the item for approval.

How do I know my product was pushed as a draft?
When an item is pushed as a draft into TikTok Shop, you will get a notification in SKU IQ informing you of that. You can find your notifications on the bell icon in the top right corner of your SKU IQ dashboard.
If you click on the notification box, you'll be directed to the notifications page, where you'll see all your recent notifications.
Where to find draft products on TikTok Shop
You can find your draft items on the TikTok Seller Center by navigating your left menu. Go to Products > Manage Products.
- Brand - There is a very extensive list of brands already populated in TikTok Shop from other merchants. When you click on the field, a long list will appear. You can type into the field itself to search for a particular brand. If you have your own brand or the brand you want to use is not listed, you can click Add new brand to add it to the TikTok Shop database.
You can find more information on this process here. - Manufacturer - This field allows for a custom value to be entered (which means that you should fill it out yourself with the relevant information, there is not a list for this field like there is for brand). You should add the name of the company that manufactures the item in question. If that is you, you would put your company's information, if not, you can search the product packaging or contact your supplier for this information.
- Country of Origin - This field allows for a custom value to be entered or allows you to pick from a suggestion. There is a drop-down list that populates when you click on the field. Since there are 195 countries in the world, it may be easier for you to type the name of the country.
- Recommended Age - This field allows for a custom value to be entered or for you to pick from a suggestion list.
- CPSIA Tracking Label - This field is for children's products (e.g. toys and such). (You can read more about CPSIA Tracking Labels here.) This field allows for "Yes", "No", "Not Applicable".
- Ingredients - This field is for food, beverage, health and wellness, or food supplement items and allows for a custom value to be input - you would want to put all ingredients in your items here. This includes active and inactive ingredients for health and wellness, beauty, or food supplement items.
There are additional fields available for each category that are optional and are not required to be filled out for TikTok Shop's Review Process, however, if you have the information on hand, we recommend submitting it as it will make your product listing more appealing to potential buyers.
💡 Tip: You can find what kinds of documentation you'll need to upload for various restricted categories here.
Scroll down to the last section of the product page to find the Product Certification field. Each product needs to have its own, individual documentation uploaded - the documents required depend on the categories and will be described there.
Also, be attentive to file formats supported for each type of document, as that may vary too.
When you click on + Add File, this will usually open a window for you to navigate to your desired folder to upload. If you're not sure where the file is, you may want to find it on your computer first and put it into an easily recognizable folder.
Submitting the Item for Review
Once all the required fields and documentation have been filled out, you can finally submit your item for review. On the top right corner of the individual product page, click on Submit for review.
While under review, the item will be available on the Reviewing tab of the Manage Products page, it will also have the status Suspended - Reviewing. This Status can remain for up to 48 hours before TikTok gives the verdict on whether it is approved or not. We don't recommend making any edits to this product while it is in this state as it will reset the entire review process.
Once TikTok is done with the review process, the item will automatically move to either Active or Suspended. Active items will immediately become available in your shop. Suspended items will be available on the Suspended Tab and will have the Suspended- Failed status, right next to the status you'll see the reason cited for that product's rejection.
If this happens to you, you can review TikTok's verdict and edit your product accordingly to re-submit it for approval. The review process will then restart.
